Been wanting to visit this place for a while as I had many good recommendations. I was glad that I finally was near Athlone, and could make it happen. I love the ambiance! Tables apart enough so everyone has enough space and privacy! The service was fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us! Now, the food was delicious! The starters were so delicately composed. The presentation, the taste & texture were mastered to perfection! The meat was so tender both the lamb and the steak. Main came with delicious sides of seasonal vegetables & baked potatoes. Overall we had a great dinner at Thyme & I highly recommend to make a reservation of you are in the area!

We recently had a meal at Thyme and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food was absolutely outstanding – every course was beautifully presented and full of flavour, and it is without doubt one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
The staff were amazing from start to finish – friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. They made the whole evening feel like a real experience rather than just a meal.
When we first arrived, we did wonder if it might be a little expensive, with the tasting menu costing either €50 or €75 per person, plus wine on top. However, having experienced the food, service and atmosphere, it was well, well worth it and represented excellent value for such a high-quality experience.
If I had one small suggestion for improvement, it would be the addition of baby-changing facilities. We had our baby with us and I had to leave and change him on the toilet floor, as there was no changing table available. Aside from that, everything else was exceptional.
Overall, the staff were absolutely brilliant, the food was unbelievable, and we would highly recommend Thyme to anyone looking for a special dining experience in Athlone.
